We also offer 30 hours free childcare to eligible working families, subject to availability. Again, this provision is available for 38 weeks of the year, during school term time only. Please speak to a member of the Early Years team for more information or visit www.childcarechoices.gov.uk

Sessions must be booked a term in advance, once the sessions are booked, they cannot be changed during the term. This will only be considered in exceptional circumstances and if there is space within the nursery to change times.

Lunch club

Beccles Early Years offers a daily lunch club, this cannot be used as part of the 15-hour free entitlement as it is not educational provision. For children attending Nursery all day, there will be no charge for the lunch provision.

For children attending Nursery for only one session per day but requires the lunch club facility, a charge of £2.00 per day is required.

In all cases, a packed lunch from home must be provided.

Charges

Any fees must be paid for at least a month in advance, invoices will be sent home for the following month and these must be paid before your child can attend additional sessions or use the lunch club. Failure to pay on time will result in extra sessions being withdrawn.

Payments made are non-refundable, even if children are unable to attend the session paid for due to illness. Refunds will only be made in the unlikely event the Nursery has to close.

Tapestry – EYFS observations

Tapestry is a secure online learning journal used to record photos, observations and comments, in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum. This helps to build up a record of your child’s experiences during their time in our Early Years setting. Once your child has started with us you will be sent a unique link, via email, to activate your account. We urge you to get involved with Tapestry as much as possible by uploading pictures and videos of the exciting things your child gets up to at home. This will enable us to build a well-rounded profile of your child during their early years.

Information for Parents 2022

Nappies and changing

We recommend that your child is fully toilet trained before starting at Beccles Early Years. However, if your child is in nappies when they start with us, we are happy to change them if required, although toilet training should commence at the earliest opportunity. You will need to sign a permission letter for us to be able to change their nappies at school. Nappies and wipes will need to be provided from home.

We understand that some children may have accidents or may get wet or dirty from playing. Staff are happy to change children if this happens, but we ask that a change of clothes is provided from home and a letter must be signed from parents or carers beforehand.

First aid and medical needs

Staff are trained in paediatric first aid and are equipped to deal with most accidents or injuries. Minor injuries will be dealt with by staff, parents and carers will be informed when they arrive to collect their child at the end of the session.

For anything more serious, staff will control the injury and contact parents and carers in the first instance. If parents or carers cannot be contacted, or the situation worsens, staff will seek medical advice.

If your child has any ongoing medical needs, such as asthma or allergies, please ensure you discuss this with the Early Years team.

Safeguarding

Here at Beccles Primary Academy, the safety and wellbeing of our children is at the forefront of all we do. We take safeguarding very seriously and believe a child that feels safe and secure will be able to access all the educational opportunities on offer and make academic progress.

Please speak to the Early Years team immediately if you have any concerns regarding any of our children.

We look forward to welcoming you and your child to Beccles Early Years!
